A fishtail braid is very much easier when you have long hair, but this doesn’t mean it that you cannot fishtail braid if you have short hair. You can always use hair extensions. Unlike other braids, the fishtail is very easy to make.

First and foremost, you have to make your braiding easier by thoroughly brushing your hair. The advantage of brushing your hair is that it will make your hair very smooth and also helps remove every tangle on your hair, and this is possible making use of any regular hairbrush.

As stated earlier, the fishtail braid will be partitioned into two sections, and now is the time to do it. You can do this using a comb or a hair picker. Divide it down the middle into two large sections and ensure that they are equal and very smooth.

After the show is the after-party, once you are done with the previous part, I am confident that you will want to start your braid. For this pattern of braid, you will pull a small section of hair from the outside of the respective sections of hair. Separate the lower sections of hair from the bigger one on the right and cross the minor section of hair over the right section of hair and pleat it at the back of the left section of hair.

You need the same thing for that of the left side. Note that the position of your hand matters too, as you will need to hold the right sections with your right hand and left section with your left hand.  In other to get a good result, do not be in a hurry when braiding, you have to work very attentively and slowly.

When you are done braiding, you need to use an elastic band to tighten up your braid. Fishtail braiding is very newbie-friendly, and anyone can learn it within a short time. Understanding the concept is the key, and with this, everybody can be a professional fishtail braider.
